A Celebration of Community: The First-Ever Pizza on the Patio at Stone Mill Inn

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Stone Mill Inn welcomed more than 130 guests to our very first Pizza on the Patio event—and what a joy it was to see our property filled with so many familiar faces and new friends.

The afternoon brought together family, friends, neighbors, team members, and past couples who once celebrated their own wedding days here at Stone Mill Inn. It was a true celebration of community and a wonderful reminder of what makes this place so special: the people who walk through our doors.

Guests enjoyed an evening of delicious food, music, and connection, beginning with fresh brick-oven pizza prepared by Chef Dan. A slider station, mac and cheese, and charcuterie rounded out the menu, giving everyone plenty to enjoy as they gathered together around the property.

The Kirwin Trio provided the soundtrack for the afternoon and evening, playing a variety of genres that kept the atmosphere lively. After dinner, guests even took to the dance floor, enjoying the beautiful summer evening together.

Throughout the event, many guests took time to explore the grounds, stroll through the gardens, and learn more about the history of Stone Mill Inn. Some reconnected with friends they hadn't seen in a while, while others shared stories and memories from celebrations held here over the years.

For owners Ken and Karen Painter and the entire Stone Mill Inn team, welcoming everyone back to the property was a true pleasure, honor, and joy. Seeing past couples return to the place where they were married was especially meaningful—and a beautiful reflection of one of the things we value most at Stone Mill Inn: creating lasting connections with the people who become part of our story.

As Karen shared during her thank-you speech, once you get married at Stone Mill Inn, you are always part of the Stone Mill Inn family. And after joining us for our very first Pizza on the Patio, we hope everyone who attended feels like part of that family, too.

We truly believe we have a little bit of paradise here in Hallam, with 12 acres of beautiful gardens and a place where people can come together, slow down, and enjoy time with one another. We love what we do, but it is our pleasure, our honor, and our joy to share this special place with each of you.
